Yesterday was an amazing day. It's one of those days where just everything goes right. Everything runs smoothly and it's just totally relaxing. In the present moment. Not worrying about anything and it feels like everything's going your way. It started with my second half playing a soccer game first thing in the morning. Like FIRST thing in the morning. He likes to sleep in on Saturdays. But, there is ONE thing that will get his tush out of the bed
SOCCER.
He had a game. I set the alarm for 6:30.
I noticed right before our heads hit the pillow...
He changed the alarm to 6:50.
Sure enough that made us late to his game.
But, I let go of any need to control and didn't even mention it.
I separated myself from the situation and thought to myself...it's his game, not mine. If he really wanted to be on time he would have been.
The game was a good 45 minute drive away. Once we got to the county of red with yellow...I couldn't believe myself. So much open space. So little traffic. Kinda conservative, rich people. But, we can forgive them for that. They've known no other life.
My second half commented they are arrogant.
I think we are a little envious of their physical wealth.
But, we are a really healthy family.
And that is another facet of wealth.
Then, Snuggles and I walked to the local grocery store. SCORE. They had a killuh clearance section. I bought a bunch of stuff and saved $27. It was gifts for our nieces and nephew. Plus, homeopathic cold medicine that was normally $14 thought we got for $2. I gave my sister-in-law and a dear friend some facial masks gifts, too. They both seemed to love them.
Interesting side note. My sister in law is an amazing cook. Chef by my standards. SHE MAKES HER YEAST FROM SCRATCH. I don't think Martha Stewart can boast that!
So, I get a huge endorphin rush from getting this killer clearance deal. Plus, I had an endorphin rush from walking in the wilderness. Plus, I had stopped at the am/pm and got an iced pumpkin latte. I put it on my fun fund. I couldn't believe how much money I was spending on iced latte's and those cappucino drinks. I made a strict rule to skim down on them. I was wasting money. But, the iced pumpkin latte was about $1.50. Whereas, if I had walked two feet to Starbucks it would have cost me $4.50. If I'm talking about money a lot...it's just because...well, I have some money issues. But, I'm very happy for our family. WE HAVE NO DEBT. REPEAT. We have no debt. I really like this about our family. It's been for over four years that we've had no debt. I am VERY proud of this. This is no easy task. I would like to get our credit score and see........Why am I blogging about this? I have this irrational fear that somebody will stalk me or something after reading my blog. Again IRRATIONAL. I had a friend from Hawaii who was stalked and I explained to her that nothing she does is stalkable. I had a client from a job who was stalked and I told her the same thing. It seemed to bring her peace. But, it's creepy. Having somebody stalk you. Fortunately, I've never been stalked. But, based upon what my friend from Hawaii told me ..... it's creepazoidy.
So after the score at the grocery store, okay it was Albertson's and I didn't want to give away the store. But, this code thing is kinda getting old. After my other half scored a bunch of goals and brought his losing team to victory we hung out at our friends' house. They have a 2 year old and three month newborn. They are a fun family to hang out with. So, we hung out their house and then went to pick up cake and candles for their two year old's birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese. It was a lot of fun. It was great to see this darling two-year old so very happy. Then, we went to our family's house and took our nieces and nephew to see Kung Fu Panda at the $2 movie theater. SCORE. It was so much fun. Before they met me at the movie theater I was reading The Google Story at Barnes and Noble. I engulfed a good two to three chapters. Wow, it's exciting to read that. I really resonated with the fact that Google allows employee's 20% of their work time to tinker with their own individual or freelance projects. Hello! Dream Job. The Indian dude who is in charge of research turned his 20% project into Google News. I'd like to look into that. I might like it...considering...according to the book...he allows many differnt viewpoints of the news onto one page. Exciting. I like to read about businesses. I have the entrepeneur bug...almost as much as I have the travel bug. I'm a youngin' so...success is still mine to find.
I believe it is in my destiny!
I believe!
Okay, then we drove home that forty-five minute ride. By the way, my brother-in-law and my sister-in-law babysat for us while we took their kids to the movies. It was a lot of fun. But, I must confess I was dying to see Snuggles by the end of the movie. Snuggles is somebody special and adorable and joy and just special!
So, we drove home as Snuggles fell asleep. Then we watched The Simpsons, taped Denny Crane...that's what we call Boston Legal. I fell asleep so we decided to watch Denny Crane on Sunday morning.
I told my other half let's go back next Saturday!
